International Community
TIMS brings together children and families from many cultural backgrounds. English is the shared language of the school day, while every family's culture, language and story are valued.
A Global Village with Strong Local Roots
At TIMS, the world comes together under one roof. Our vibrant, multicultural community is home to a wonderfully diverse tapestry of families, including a strong Korean community, expats arriving from the US, Mexico, Japan, Dubai, Sweden and the UK, and many local German families.
This unique blend creates a rich environment where children experience cultural exchange every single day. For our international families, we offer a soft landing in Germany, complete with relocation insights and community partnerships. For our local German families, TIMS provides the great opportunity for children to master natural, fluent English while simultaneously benefiting from high-quality, native-level German language lessons integrated directly into their weekly schedule. Together, we share values of mutual respect, open-mindedness and global citizenship.
English-speaking environment
English is the main language of communication at TIMS. Children who arrive with little or no English are supported gently through daily routines, Montessori activities, songs, stories and peer interaction.
Because children are motivated to play and connect with friends, language grows naturally. At the same time, native-level weekly German lessons — taught by a native German teacher — help every child build a strong foundation in the language of their host country.
A natural choice for local German families
TIMS is not only for families arriving from abroad. A growing number of local German families choose TIMS because it gives their children genuine English immersion and international friendships from an early age — without losing touch with their mother tongue.
Through native-level weekly German lessons and the everyday life of a bilingual community, German children keep developing their German while gaining confident English. The cultural exchange runs both ways, as German and international families learn from one another every day.
Supporting families new to Germany
For internationally mobile families, moving countries can be exciting and challenging at the same time. TIMS helps create stability: children find routines and friendships, while parents meet other families who understand the experience of relocation.
The school community often becomes a practical and emotional support network for families settling into life in the Frankfurt-Taunus region.
Settling in: relocation support for new families
Moving to a new country is a big step, and TIMS likes to make the practical side easier. For families arriving in the Frankfurt and Taunus area, we are happy to share tips and local know-how — from registering your address (Anmeldung) at the Bürgerbüro in Oberursel and finding your way around the S-Bahn S5 line, to choosing doctors and paediatricians, opening a bank account and understanding the German childcare and school system.
We can also connect new families with trusted local partners — including relocation and housing support, language schools and family services — and, just as importantly, with other TIMS parents who have recently made the same move. You never have to find your feet alone.
Celebrating cultures together
Throughout the year, families are invited to share traditions, stories, food and celebrations. Cultural events help children see that every family has something valuable to contribute, and they give parents meaningful ways to connect with one another.
