TIMS – Taunus International Montessori School
Association & Board

Association & Board

TIMS is operated as a non-profit parent association. This structure gives families a meaningful connection to the school and helps keep TIMS focused on what matters most: the children.

A parent-led school community

TIMS is officially organised as a registered non-profit association under German law. Parents of enrolled children become members of the association and help support the school's educational and cultural mission.

What the association does

The association supports the school's long-term development, community life and governance. Members may take part in meetings, vote on important matters and contribute to activities that benefit the children and families.

The role of the board

The board represents the parent association and works with the school leadership on policy, planning, finance and strategic decisions. The board helps ensure that TIMS continues to serve its families while remaining true to its Montessori and international values.

Our board members bring a wide range of professional backgrounds to their volunteer roles and work closely with parents across the wider association.

Parent involvement in practice

Parents contribute in many different ways: supporting events, helping with fundraising, sharing cultural traditions, volunteering in the garden or taking on formal association roles. Every contribution strengthens the school community.

We warmly invite every parent to get involved. Many families lend a hand through one of our subcommittees, where you can share your time and talents in a way that suits you:

  • Library — curating and caring for our children's books

  • Garden — tending the outdoor spaces where children play and learn

  • Baking Sales — helping organise treats and fundraising events

No special experience is needed — just a willingness to join in. If you would like to volunteer, please speak to the school office or a board member.
