Community Events
Life at TIMS extends beyond the classroom. Events, celebrations and informal gatherings help children and parents feel connected, welcomed and part of a warm international community.
Celebrating together throughout the year
With families from many cultural backgrounds, the TIMS calendar is full of opportunities to share traditions and celebrate together. Events may include seasonal celebrations, cultural festivals, summer gatherings, concerts and family mornings.
These moments are important because they help children see the richness of different cultures and give parents relaxed opportunities to meet and build friendships.
Traditions we love
Summer BBQ
One of the highlights of our year, the Summer BBQ brings the whole school together at the end of the year for food, music and relaxed time outdoors — a chance for children, parents and teachers to celebrate as one big community.
Christmas Show
Each December the children prepare our much-loved Christmas Show, singing and performing for their families. It is a heartwarming celebration of the season and a proud moment for every child to shine on stage.
Ramadan & Eid
Reflecting our international community, TIMS observes Ramadan and celebrates Eid together, so all children can learn about and share in the traditions of their Muslim friends and families with warmth and respect.
Cultural celebrations
TIMS families may contribute to celebrations such as Halloween, St. Martin's Day, Diwali, Thanksgiving, St. Nikolaus, Hanukkah, Christmas, Lunar New Year, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Fasching, Easter and other traditions represented in the community.
Events can vary each year depending on the families, the school calendar and available volunteers.
Family gatherings
Summer barbecues, holiday concerts, coffee mornings and community get-togethers give families time to connect outside the regular drop-off and pick-up routine. For families new to Germany, these informal moments can make a big difference.
Parent participation
Many events are made possible by parents who bring ideas, food, music, stories, decorations or helping hands. Families are welcome to share traditions that matter to them and help the school community learn from one another.
